The wastewater plant pH was upset during this period due to Unit 2 construction activities. An acidic floor cleaning solution was used to prepare the floors for painting. The upset pH degraded the efficiency of flocculation and filtration.

CORRECT M ACTIUn:

A' work request has been initiated to Install an inline pH monitor at the WTF.

Installation of the equip:aent, and logic to trip the equalization tank transfer pumps on conditions of high or low pH should prevent this from occurring in the future.

Hechanical problems with the Radwaste evaporators resul1 bed poor quality water being processed to this out fall. This water was known to have been of poor quality prior to processing forward, but was not acted upon due to high water Inventories in Radwaste. Once the water was discharged to this out fall tank, It could not be reprocessed, and must be discharged to the cooling Pond Blowdown line.

l CORRECTIVE ACTION:

Operating personnel were notified of the need to reprocess poor quality water, instead of processing it forward.

Operating personnel agreed with this, and will reprocess poor quality water. They are also attempting to correct the problems with the evaporators, which will alleviate the need for reprocessing.
