This is in partial response to your letter dated August 31, 1982 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, the following documents:
1.
NRC Shutdown Plan - mentioned in the Weekly Information Report for the week ending August 28, 1981.
2.
SECY-81-600 and SECY-81-600A.
Document 1, entitled, " Draft Manual Chapter 1302, " Shutdown Plan: Contingency Plan for Periods of Lapsed Appropriations", is still in the draft stage undergoing internal, office-level review, prior to completion and finalization as an NRC manual chapter. A copy of the draft, which has not been approved by management, is being placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) located at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC.
The final is expected to be completed by early November 1982, and you may write for a

copy of the final document at that time.
The NRC has not completed its review of the two Commission papers subject to your request. We will respond as soon as that review is completed.
