Freedom of Information Act Request

Dear Sir:

Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C.

552, I am requesting copies of any and all records relating to a ship-ment of radioactive material manufactured by General Electric Corp. at Wilmington, it.C., transported by Tri-State liotor Transi t, of Joplin, M0., through the City of tiew York on or about July 25, 1982, and re-ceived by Long Island Lighting Company at its Shoreham Nuclear Plant, Suffolk County, N.Y.

This request is made for purposes of a proceeding brought in the Administrative Tribunal of the flew York City Department of Health for violations of the New York City Health Code by General Electric and Tri-State Motor Transit.

As you know, the Act permits you to reduce or waive fees when the release of information is considered as "primarily benefiting the pub-lic".

I believe this request fi ts that category and I - therefore ask that you waive any fees.

I would appreciate your handling this request as quickly as pos-sible, and I look forward to hearing from you within 10 days as.the law stipulates.

Sincerely, 8I['Z-Saul S. Sharison Deputy General Counsel n
