to reduce the number of copies of Site Completion Reports sent us in support l

l of DOE certification of site completion. The number of copies of this and other documents DOE sends to NRC is covered in Section 1.0 of Appendix A to L

our Mencrandum of Understanding. This issue (i.e., are the number of copies L

of various documents called 1or in the MOU still appropriate) was discussed in our meeting on the MOV on January 18 in Albuquerque. We agreed to consider

. that question and to propose revisions as part of our review of the revised MOV received for review on February 20.

l We agrre. with the intent of your letter that we should collectively reduce the number and costs involved in multiple copies of DOE documents and subsequent revisions made by DOE. One approach that many of our licensees and applicants have followed in this regard is to submit docunents in loose-leaf form.

Revisions and updates are accomplished by page replacement eliminating the need to reprint large docunents. We suggest that you consider this as an additional option. Finally, we will carefully examine our need for multiple copies of documents as part of our review of the revised MOU.
