Dear Mr. Regan:
1 This refers to Certificate of Compliance No. 9191 for the Model Nos. ORNL and j
BNL Unirradiated fuel Shipping Containers which has an expiration date of June 30, 1990.
Since the certificate references include several supplements, a consolidated application, complete in itself and which includes drawings and all pertinent j
information should be submitted.
Preferably, the application should be in the format of Regulatory Guide 7.9.
The sections on operating procedures, accept.
ance tests, and maintenance programs should be reviewed to assure they are complete and current.
If revisions are necessary, the revised sections should be submitted with the application for renewal.
Note that the certificate of compliance may be conditioned to specifically cite the operating procedures, J
acceptance testing and maintenance programs. To ensure continued use of the packages, the consolidated application (6 copies) should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of the certificate.
Unless an exemption is provided by 10 CFR Part 170.11, an applicatio:: fee of
$150.00, as required by 10 CFR Part 170.31, should be included with the request for renewal. This notice of expiration shop 1d not be construed that such notice will be provided in the future. Also, please let us know if you do not intend to request renewal of the certificate.
