amendments, in the form of changes to the Technical Specifications, to Operating License Numbers NPF 4 and NPF 7 for North Anna Power Station Units 1 and 2, respectively. These amendments will remove the 3.25 limit on extending surveillance intervals required by Technical Specification 4.0.2 for both North Anna units as encouraged by NRC Generic Letter 8914. Technical Specification 4.0.3 to allow a 24 hour2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> period to complete a missed surveillance requirement before entering into the applicable action statement in accordance with NRC Generic Letter 87 09. The proposed change will have no adverse affect on operation of the facility. The proposed change will improve the scheduling of surveillance activities and allow t
surveillance activities to be postponed when plant conditions are not suitable for their conduct. Implementation of the proposed change to the surveillance requirements will require no hardware modifications and subsequent operation of the facility will not change the results of any accident analyses described in the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR). Attachment 3 provides a discussion of the proposed charge and a 10 CFR 50.92 evaluation.
This request has been reviewed by the Station Nuclear Safety and Operating Committee and it has been determined that this request does not involve an unreviewed safety question as defined in 10 CFR 50.59 or a significant hazards consideration as defined in 10 CFR 50.92.
