License No. DPR-3 As a. result of the. inspection conducted on February:5-9,1990, and in accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (Enforcement Policy) the
.following deviation'was identified:
Table 1, Section 8 of Regulatory Guide 1.97, Revision 3 states that r
types A, B and C instruments designated as Categories 1 and 2 should be specifically identified with a common designation on the control panels so that the operator can easily discern that they are intended for use under accident conditions.
Contrary to the above, on Feb' uary 9,1990, the control room panels did r
not have specific identification of post accident monitoring-instrumentation as required by Regulatory Guide'1.97.
This is a deviation.
Yankee Atomic Electric Company is hereby requested to submit to-this office within thirty days of the date of the letter which transmitted this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply,-including:
(1) the reason for the deviation, if admitted; (2) the corrective steps which have been'taken.and the results achieved; (3) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations; and (4) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Where
- good cause is shown, consideration will'be given to extending this response time.
