-Chairman Carr. You were correct in stating that the U.S. huclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has certair. responsibilities in the area of radiation monitor-ing following a nuclear accident. Our capabilities do not extend, however, to aerial radiation monitoring equipment. The primary reason for this is that very sophisticated aerial radiation monitoring equipment is available to us for E
routine monitoring and emergency response through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its contractor, EG&G/Las Vegas (subsidiary of EG&G, lac)..
