Submittal of Revisio'n 3 to the Fermi 2 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report and the Annual 10CFR50.59 Safety Evaluation Summary Report Pursuant to 10CFR50.71(e) and 10CFR50.59(b), Detroit Edison hereby submits Revision 3 to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for Fermi 2 and the annual Safety Evaluation Summary Report.
The sigr.ed original and ten additional copies of the UFSAR, Revision 3, are enclosed; one copy will be submitted to Region III and one copy to the NRC Site Inspector. The UFSAR contains changes made since submittal of Revision 2 in March 1989 and is considered accurate to September 20, 1989, six months prior to this submittal. Changes associated with Revision 3 are annotated by revision bars along the right-hand margin appropriately marked with a "3".
All revised pages are marked Rev. 3 3/90.
Appendix 9A.6, " Fire Protection Conditions for Operation" was revised to incorporate certain fire protection Technical Specifications in accordance with NRC Generic Letter 88-12. This change to the UFSAR was made to support a Technical Specification Amendment that will be filed under separate cover at a later date. Thus, Appendix 9A of the UFSAR will match the contents of the current fire protection Technical Specifications at the time the Technical Specification change is proposed.
Detroit Edison will continue to follow the fire protection Technical Specifications until such time as the change is approved.
Also enclosed is the annual Safety Evaluation Summary Report containing a brief description of changes to plant design, UFSAR, procedures, tests, and experiments.
