Operating Procedures and Maintenance Program The application for renewal does not provide operating and maintenance procedures for the Model No. GE-8500 package as requested in our December 21, 1989, letter. The application should be revised to include specific sections on operating procedures and a maintenance program. These sections should provide, as a minimum, the following information.
0)erating procedures should be presented sequentially in the order in which tie operations are performed. The procedures should also address items such
- as inspections prior to loading, cautionary notes on package handling, limits on package contents, installation of security seals, determination that the external radiation is within regulatory limits, and instructions pertinent.to i
receiving and unloading the package.
The maintenance arogram should describe the actions taken to ensure continued performance of tie packaging. The program should include periodic testing, inspection, and. replacement schedules, as well as criteria for replacement and 1
repair of components-and subsystems on an as-needed basis.
