This letter summarizes and concludes NRC's search for the documents requested in your subpoena duces tecum of October 31, 1986.
This Office forwarded copies of your i
document request to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation
("NRR*), the Office of Inspection and Enforcement ('IE*),
the Office of Information Resource Management ('IRM") and Region IV.
Individuals providing assistance in identifying and copying documents were Carl Berlinger, Reactor Systems Branch, Division of PWR - Licensing A, NRR Emmett Murphy, PWR Assessment Branch, NRR Ralph Caruso, BWR Project Directorate $4, Division of BWR Licensing, NRR Ellis Merschoff Vendor Program Branch, Division of L
and Edward-Trottier, Quality Assurance, Vendor and TTC Programs, IE Latravetta Lee, Records Services Branch, Division of Information Support Services, IRM Ian Barnes, Region IV On December 3, 1986, I forwarded to you a computer print-out listing all TDI-related documents, January, 1984-December, 1985.
Pursuant to your subsequent request, on February 20, 1987 I forvarded two copies of the microfiche containing all the documents on the computer 9002130219 900208 PDR FOIA ROLFEB9-192 PDR

These documents are responsive, in particular, to Items 14, 38, 39 and, in general, to all requests for documents in that time period.
Documents obtained from IE, responsive to Items ;, 2, 3,-4, 5, 6, 7, 9,10, 32 and 37, were forwarded to you under cover letter of December 11, 1986.
No documents were discovered in response to Item 8.
Documents obtained f rom IRM, responsive to Items 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, were forwarded to you under cover letter of December 18, 1986.
No documents were found in response to' Items 18, 21, 23 and 31.
The remaining Items are 11, 12, 13, 15, 33, 34, 35, 36.
With respect to Item 12b, Mr. Berlinger informs me that there probably was a TDI response to the letter of December 1, 1983.
If so, that letter, as well as any documents responsive to Item 13, should appear on the microfiche.
The above-named individuals were unable to identify any documents responsive to the remaining Items.
One document, responsive to Item 9, was located for which the NRC claims privilege, an October 7, 1983 Memorandum from John T. Collins, Regional Administrator, RIV, to R. R. Herr, Director, Pegion IV office of Investigations, requesting an investigation of certain TDI activities.
This document is being withheld because it pertains to an ongoing investigation and its release could compromise that investigation.
On March 12, 1987, I forwarded the additional documents requested in your letter of February 26, 1987.
The documents for which you requested certification were forwarded to you on March 27, 1987.
As a final matter, I note that your letter of October 30, 1986 anticipates the possibility of taking the depositions of one or more NRC employees at.d states that you intend to comply with 10 C.F.R. $ 9.202 (b) (1) by sending the requisite letter to the General Counsel.
Your letter also anticipates the possibility of a " follow-up subpoena duces tecum."
While this Office would appreciate receiving a copy of any additional subpoenas, the subpoena itself should be t

served on the person possessing the documents or from whom testimony is desired, not on the General Counsel.
