Revision of Design Criteria and Schedule Update.
Dee : Sir:
-Florida Power Corporation (FPC) is submitting six copies of Revision l1 to FPC's report." Pipe Rupture Analysis Criteria Outside the Reactor BuildingfCrystal: River Unit 3."
Revision 0 was submitted-for NRC l
review'in FPC's March'31, 1989 letter.
There. are several fundamental differences between the B31.1-1967 Power. Piping Code.used to. design CR-3'and the ASME Section III code which forms the. break stress' threshold basis of'the Standard Review Plan.
The NRC summarized its position regarding this issue and outlined requirements for acceptance in a' September 28, 1989 letter.
These requirements are detailed in Section 4.1.2 of the revised criteria.
.The criteria also contains a revised Section 9.0 which
- addresses flooding effects following design basis pipe breaks as l..
requested by the November 9, 1989 NRC letter.
