Dear-Mr. Denton:
The purpose of. this letter -is to advise you of actions taken and planned by Commonwealth Edison relative to the date for completion of the requalification program for the subject equipment.
As you are aware ~the NRC established in CLI-80-21 the date of. June 30, 1982 for completion of that program.
Commonwealth Edison has, in conjunction with '17 other-licensees petitioned i he Commission for -an extension o f ' that date Re ference (1).-. That petition was made on behalf of the Commonwealth Edison operating units and plants'under construction.
It.is our present understanding that-the Commission is considering this petition with the likelihood that an extension of
' the deadline on showing of good cause will ~ be granted.
The LaSalle County Station requalification program is
. currently scheduled to-be completed by mid-1983.
Thi.s senedule was
, delineated in Reference (2).
In the event relief is not granted by-theLCommission.to extend the June, 1982 deadline, Commonwealth Edison will be submitting a formal request for plant specific relief...However, given the current ongoing review by tne Commisson on this issue, a specific request for-relief beyond that.made in
