Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
Nureg 0737 Item II.D.1 requires a plant specific submittal confirming the adequacy of the safety and relief valves (S/RV) by October 1, 1981.
In addition, the licensee was requested to demonstrate the adequacy of the S/RV's discharge piping and supports by January 1, 1982.
In order to satisfy these requirements, Philadelphia Electric Company participated in the BWR Owners' Group S/RV qualification test program.
The test results confirm the adequacy of the S/RV, and its discharge piping and supports, for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units Nos. 2 and 3.
NEDO-24988-P, " Analysis of Generic BWR Safety / Relief Valve Operability Test Results" is being submitted to you by a letter from T.
J.
Dente (BWR Owners' Group Chairman) to D.
G.
Eisenhut (NRC) dated September 25, 1981 and that report is hereby incorporated by reference herein.
The Peach Bottom Plant utilizes the Target Rock, model 7467F, 3 stage, 6 x 10 type of S/RV.
The applicability of the test results for the Target Rock model 67F test specimen to the Peach Bottom S/RV's has been demonstrated in a letter from D.
