ACRS ACTION ON REGULATORY GUIDES AND REGULATIONS

Dear Mr. Dircks:

During its 257th meeting, September 10-12, 1981, the ACRS concurred in the regulatory positions of the following Regulatory Guide and in the revisions to 10 CFR Part 50:

1.

Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 3.(Task RS 902-4), " Quality Assurance Program Requirements (Operation)," dated July 1, 1981.

2.

Revisi:ns to 10 CFR Part 50, " Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities," dated August 19, 1981.

(a) Section 50.12. " Specific Exemptions," paragraph (a).

(b) Section 50.55a, " Codes and Standards" paragraph (1).

(c) Section 50.60, " Acceptance Criteria for Fracture Prevention Measures for Light-Water Nuclear Power Reactors".

(d) Appendix G, " Fracture Toughness Requirements," and (e) Appendix H, " Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program Requirements."
