Purpose 1.

To observe the existing groundwater contamination situation at the mill site adjacent properties and the remedial actions of the mill operator for resolving this problem.

2.

To observe the tailings moving operation Attendees Jack Rothfleisch - Cotter Jim Cain - Cotter John Reese - Whaler Associates Roy Williams - HRC/ Williams Robinette and Associates, Inc.

Jim Obsinsky - HRC/ University of Idaho Bill Staub - liRC/ORNL Tom Fleming - HRC Sucinarg We met with Mr. Rothfleisch in his office at the mill Thursday morning and discussed the groundwater contamination problem. We further discussed what had been done to resolve the problem since Roy Williams' last site visit about one year ago and what was going to be done in the future.

IB5 813et We then inspected the site observing the conditions that were discussed during our morning office meeting.

During our site inspection, we also observed the tailings moving operation.

Photos of the site are available in qy office, 4th floor Willste Building.

A detailed technical report of the major groundwater issues and tailings moving operation will be included in a forthcoming report by Roy Williams and rqyself.

Roy Williams and I met with the Colorado Department of Ilealth Friday afternoon in Denver at their office. We discussed what we observed at the site, llo significant problems were identified.
