Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
OFFICE OF INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT BULLETINS 79-02 AND 79 BROWNS.
FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 3 296 My letter to you dated June 18, 1981 stated that Phase I work on Browns Ferry unit 3 would be completed by August 1, 1981. Due to maintenance work which was required on the radwaste sump pumps and the 3C Residual Heat Removal pump motors, inspection efforts have been limited on portions of the Emergency Equipment Cooling Water (EECW) system, which is in the same area. All inspections will be completed on unit 3 by August 1, 1981 as previously stated with the exception of the affected portion of the EECW system which will be completed by August 21, 1981.
This has been discussed with Al Herdt of your staff.
