The reference (1) letter provided the NRC licensing schedule' for the Clinton Power Station and requested quarterly update reporting on the status of construction completion.
This is an update on the Clinton Unit 1 construction schedule as reported to you by the reference (2) letter.
We have examined Clinton schedule information as presented in the table attached to the referenced (1) letter.
We find this information consistent with our current forecast of January 1983 fuel load dates.
Illinois Power Company is required by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) to file monthly status reports on the Clinton project.
In our latest filing with the ICC, dated August 31, 1981, the Company reported that certain critical path activities are esa.imated to be 85 days behind schedule.
However, the projsct tanagement team constantly monitors critical path activities and
!atroduces corrective measures.
We believe that the actions that have been initiated will improve the schedule, We are continuing to work to our scheduled fuel load date of January 1983.
We will comply with your request to provide your office with quarterly updates on the status of the Clinton construction schedule.
Our next update will be submitted in December, 1981.
