Meeting Summary:
Management Meeting on August 21, 1981 (Report No. 70-371/81-15)
Scope: Special, announced management meeting to discuss the results of the NRC board convened to evaluate the licensee's performance from July 1,1980 to June 30, 1981 as part of the NRC's Systeriiatic Assessmeit of Licensee Performance (SALP) Prograa. Areas addressed included: Plant Operations; Nuclear Criticality Safety; Material Control /
Accounting; Physical Protection; Maintenance; Modifications / Changes to Facility /Eptems; Safety Committees; Vendor QA Program; Reporting; Procedure Control; Instrument Calibra-tion; Management Reviews / Audits; Radiation Protection; Environmental Protection; Emer-gency Planning; Training; Radioactive Waste Management; Transportation; and, Overall Facility Management. The meeting was held during the day shift and involved 6 NRC management hours onsite by 3 NRC Region I personnel.
Results: A surmiary of the licensee performance evaluation was presented. Areas of con-cern were discussed with facility management. No new enforcement actions were identified.

Discussion A brief sunrnary of the. Systematic Assessment of Licensee Perfonnance (SALP)
Program was presented to explain the basis and purpose of the evaluation.
The NCC Region I evaluation board meeting was discussed, including the assess-ment period, performance data and the results of the board's evaluation.
(See Appendix 1 and Attachments 1 and 2.)
The licensee's overall performance was considered acceptable.

Investigation Activity There was one investigation of information received from a reporter regarding the unauthorized dfsposal of radioactive material ten years ago.
No information to substantiate the allegation was found during the investigation and no items of noncompliance'were identified.
