Dear Mr. Keppler:
on May 26, 1981 we received the Safety Evaluation Report (SER) prepared by the NRC on our response to IE Sulletin No. 79-OlB. The due date for our response is August 27, 1981.
We are making every effort to comply with the issues raised in this SER. We have found in the course of our review, however, that there are a number of points which require discussion and clarification with the staff. Furthermore, as a result of the complex nature of the issues raised by the SER and the size of the effort involved, we would like to request an extension of forty five days from you in order to submit our response.
The additional time will enable us to answer the questions raised in a more satisfactory and complete manner.
