Gentlemen:
Your letter of May 4, 1981, Qualification of Inspection, Examination, and Testing and Audit Personnel (Generic Letter 81-01) rcquested Georgia Power Company to furnish commitments to meet regulatory positions C.5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 of Regulatory Guide 1.58, Revision 1, and Regulatory Guide 1.146, and our planned date for doing so; or to describe alternate methods of complying with 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B regarding qualification of nuclear powec plant inspection, examination, and testing personnel, and qualification of audit personnel, and our schedules for implementing the alternative methods.
Georgia Power Company has reviewed Regulatory Guides 1.146 and 1.58,.
Revision 1 with the corresponding ANSI /ASME Standards N45.2.23-1978 and N45.2.6-1978, respectively. GPC commits to the following:
A. Regulatory Guide 1.146, " Qual 1<ication of Quality Assurance Program Aud't Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants," which endorses ANSI /ASME Standard N45.2.23-1978. GPC plans to be in full compliance by April 16, 1982.
B. Regulatory Positions C.5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 of Regulatory Guide 1.58, Revision 1, " Qualification of Nuclear Power Plant Inspection, Examination, and Testing Personnel," and the portions of ANSI N45.2.6-1978 which the Regulatory Positions affect. Plant Hatch remains committed to ANSI N45.2.6-1973 and Regulatory Guide 1.58, Revision 0, and we believe that we are currently in compliance with the Regulatory Positions C.5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 of Regulatory Guide 1.58, Revision 1.
