4 Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-295 Docket No. 50-304 As a result of the inspection conducted on June 19, 22-26, and July 6-8, 1981, and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7, 1980), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 5.2.B states:
" Radiation control procedures shall be maintained, made available to all station personnel, and adhered to."
Procedure RP-1190, " Hot Tool Procedures," requires:
that all contaminated tools be marked if the direct reading is greater a.
l than 100 cpm.
b.
that tools stored in an unshielded container in the auxiliary building not exceed a direct reading of 6000 cpm at one inch.
l Contrary to the above, tools found in unshielded contractor tool boxes in the auxiliary building on June 22, 1981, were unmarked and read up to l
10 mR/hr at one inch. Also, an unshielded electrical maintenance tool box read about 240 mR/hr at contact. These readings exceed 6000 cpm at one inch.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement IV).
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified item of noncompliance and to prevent recurrence.
Consequently, no reply to this item of noncompliance is required end we h. ave no further questions re-i garding this matter.
