RESPONSE OF STRUCTURES TO EXTREME WIND HAZARD AT THE BATTELLE MEh3 RIAL INSTITUTE COLUMBUS LABORATORIES WEST JEFFERSON SITE COLUMBUS OHIO (VOLUME I)
The purpose of this rysnorandum is to recommend endorsement of the attached review as a staff pcsition and a basis fnr succeeding increments of the analysis of the effects of natural phenomena upon existing plutonium fabrication facilities. A draft of the subject report has been reviewed and commented upon by Dr. R. P. Kennedy, Engineering Decision Analysis Corporation (EDAC); Pr. W. J. Itall, University of Illinois; J. Mishima, Battelle Northwest Laboratory; and Dr. W. E. Vesely, W. Burkhardt, and J. E. Ayer, NRC. The subject report recognizes the substantive comments made on the draft.
We recommend that this review including its su:miary and conclusions be adopted as a staff position subject to your approval.
Subsequent to your approval we will make copies availat,le to the public and to Battelle in accordance with review and doci: mentation procedures agited upon and described in our Febrcary 10, 1977 memorandum to R. M. Bernero.
