RE:
Houston Lighting & Power Co. et al. South Texas Project, Units 1 & 2, Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Gentlemen:
When the hearing resumes for the week of September 14, the testimony to be presented by Applicants will include a panel l
consisting of Messrs. Oprea, Goldberg, Moles and Frazar re-garding the operation of the STP.
Their testimony was prefiled on June 15, 1981.
Since that testimony was prefiled, Mr. Jerrold G.
Dewease has been hired by HL&P as Vice President: Nuclear Plant Operations.
In view of the Board's previous requasts that HL&P present as witnesses HL&P management officials with responsibilities relevant to STP, we assume that the Board will want Mr. Dewease to testify.
Accordingly, we propose that Mr.
Dewease be added to the operations panel.

CAKER & CoTTG Charles Bechhoefer, Esq. August 14, 1981 Dr. James C. Lamb Ernest E. Hill r-In addition, since the testimony was prefiled more than two months ago, a number of minor changes are needed to bring the testimony up to date.
In order to minimize the amount of time needed to revise the testimony of the operations panel at the hearing, we are submitting herewith an updated version.
This updated version contains the following revisions to the originally filed testimony:
1.
Mr. Dewease has been added to the panel and his
. background and qualifications have been added in a new Q and A3a.
2.
Questions 38 to the end have been renumbered to correct a numbering error in the original filing (two 0.38's).
3.
There have been minor corrections or updates to the answers to questions numbered 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 37, 44 (now 45), 47 (now 48),
49 (now 50), 51 (now 52), 54 (now 55), 56 (now 57), and figure 1.
We anticipate that the testimony of the Wilson-Warnick-Singleton panel and the testimony of Mr. Williams will occupy September 14 and 15.
Accordingly, we plan to present the operations panel on September 16, and the witnesses have arranged their schedules to be available that day.
Respectfully, Thomas B. Hudsen, Jr.
