Enclosed are copies of the Staff's Supplenent Ho. 3 to its Safety Evaluation Report in the captioned proceeding. This supplement deals with the post-THI near tern construction permit action itecs contained in huREG-0718, Revision 1.
Also enclosed, is a copy of the Staff's rasponse to the Applicant's August 5,1981 "Hotion to Strike Prefiled Testicony of Dr. tiarrack".
Finally, the Staff has discovered that its testimony regarding Doherty Contention 42 (Position Indication for SRV) was inadvertently not filed witn the package of Staff testinony sent to the Board and parties on July 27, 1981. We have, therefore, enclosed herewith copies of the "HRC Staff Testinony of Harvin W. (Wayne) Hodges Regarding Position Indication for SRV".
As the Board will note Mr. liodges is scheduled to testify on several issues during the upcoming hearing session scheduled for August 17-21, 1981. The Staff does not believe that any party would be prejudiced if Mr. Hodges' testimony regarding Doherty Contention 42 is heard at the same tiae. The testinorty is short, not at variance with the Applicant's testimony on the same issue, and therefore should not require auch additional preparation on the part of the intervencrs beyond that whicn they have made for cross-examination of the Applicant's witness.
Furtheraore, since Nr. Hodges is gj not scheduled until later in the week, we believe that there will be sufficient tiae for the intervenors to prepare for whatever cross-examination of Mr. Hodges they contemplate.
