Dear Sir:

l In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, we are submitting the following corrective action to the three points of non-compliance detailed by W. J. Slawinski in his inspection of our facilities on June 24 and 25,1981.

1) Our procedure RS-SOP-880.2, Procedure for Wipe Testing of Radioactive Sources, dated 2-8-78, will be revised by August 30, 1981, tc include the use of a NaI system, as described in Section 1.3.1, Attachment for Items 10 and 11, of our by-product license application dated May 26, 1978, License number 34-18156-01. A calibration source, or sources, will be purchased by August ";,1981, to calibrate that system for the analysis of w e tests of beta and/or gamma emi tting material. We will require this additional time to complete our evaluation as to source types, size, and availabili ty.

The revised procedure will go into effect.is soon as the calibrated source (s) arrives in plant.

2) We will prepare a chart to be filled in by the person responsible to do the ueekly radiological survey, and post it in a place that will remind us that a weekly survey is necess ary. This weekly survey will start on Monday, k:gus t 10,1981.

3) The five " safety-ray" americium-241 sources that were not wipe tested because they were in storage will be immediately added to our list of sources to be wiped on a quarterly basis. They l

will receive an initial leak check no later than Friday, August 7, 1981.
