Westinghouse letter to NRC, NS-TMA-2198 (T. Anderson to K. Kniel) dated January 31, 1980
Dear Mr. Denton:
As described in the FSAR, the SNUPPS design includes the Westinghouse improved load follow package. These design features are the same as those used on another Westinghouse plant, McGuire. Additional informa-tion on this subject was provided to the NRC in a meeting between the NRC's Core Performance Branch, Duke Power Company, and Westinghouse on October 30, 1979. The information was submitted to the NRC by the referenced letter.
The additional information provided by the reference was used as background material for approval of specification 3/4.2.1 of the McGuire Technical Specifications and approval in the McGuire Safety Evaluation Report. The same information is applicable to SNUPPS. SNUPPS intends to comply with the same Technical Specification that was approved for McGuire for the load follow package.
The above information was requested by Mr. M. Dunenfeld of the NRC.
