i This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. J. Slawinski of this office on July 24, 1981, of activities at Bicron Corporation authorized by NRC Byproduct Material License No. 34-13845-01 and to the discussion of our findings with William Novak at the conclusion of the inspection and to the telephone conversation with you on July 30, 1981.
The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance-with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with personael.
In addition to-the above areas, this inspection included a review of the circumstances surrounding the loss of a 98 microcurie cesium-137 sealed source, as documented in your letter dated June 9, 1981. Your corrective actions and additional control measures appear adequate. Therefore, we.have no further questions regarding this matter.
During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in noncom-pliance with NRC requirements, as specified in enclosed Appendix A.
A written-response, submitted under oath or affirmation, is required.
