NOTICE OF VIOLATION Omaha Public Power District Docxet:
50-285/81-12 Fort Calhoun Station License: DPR-40 l
As a result of the inspection conducted during the period of May 4-7, 1981, and in accordance with the Interim Enforcem9nt Folicy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7, 1980), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 5.8.1 requires that, " Written procedures and administra-tive policies shall be established, implemented and maintained that meet or exceed the minimum requirements of Sections 5.1 and 5.3 of ANSI N18.7-1972 and Appendix A of USNRC Regulatory Guide 1.33....."
Standing Order A-T-13, " Quality Control Program for Chemistry and Radiation Protection Equipment" issued on Octobar 14, 1980, requires, in part, that all calibration procedures for chemistry analytical instruments and health physics-radiation protection equipment be reviewed at least every two years.
Contrary to the above, 16 out of 22 chemistry instrument calibration procedures and 17 out of 19 health physics instrument calibration procedures had not been reviewed within the time period from May 1979 to the time of the inspection.
This is a Severity level V Violation.

Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Omaha Public Power District is hereby required to submit to this office within 30 days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) the correct 1ve steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Under the authority of Section 182 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, this response shall be submitted under oath of affirmation. Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown. The responses directed by this Notice are not subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980,
