Dear fir. Warshaw:

Pursuant to the authority contained in the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, as amended, the Nuclear Regulatory Comission (NRC) and the ilational Bureau of Standards (NBS) desire to enter into a cooperative agreement whereby NBS will develop a Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) for processors of personnel dosimeters.

?!RC and NBS agree to the following terms of this agreement:

I.

Period of Performance January 1,1981 through August 31, 1982 II. Scope of Work t.BS shall perform the specific tasks described in Section III.' A.

(Phase 1) of the enclosure to the letter of May 19,1981, from S. I. Warshaw and C. E. Kuyatt of NBS to fir. Robert Alexander of NRC. A copy of that letter is attached hereto, and forms a part of this agreement.

Reports s

NBS shall provide telephone progress reports as requested by the NRC technical contact.

IV.

Estimate of Cost and Obligation of Funds The estimated cost is $150,000 of FY 1981 funds for development of theLAP(Phase 1).

This' amount is hereby 'obligatsd.

For purposes of project management and accounting control, this project shall be identified on all correspondence and vouchers by the control numbers BER Ho. 10-19-05-11-2 and FIN 88087.

It is expected that. Phase 2 of this project will also be supported for approximateCy $250,000 of FY 1902 funds.

However, this work will be the subject of a future modification to this agreement.

(This is in at. ordance with the Treasury Fiscal Requirements Manual, bulletin number 78-09.

Funds Available Any 1981 funds remaining uncosted on September 30,1981, may ~ be~

carried over into future fiscal years unless otherwise notified by' NRC.

If this agreement is acceptable to NBS, please sign in the space below and return the original and one signed copy to this office.
