MEMORANDUM FOR THE FILES:
FROM:
R. Neal Moore, Senio: Licensing Officer C)
Export l Import and International Safeguards p
4 SUBJ:
FINDINGS RELATED TO THE PROPOSED IMPORT OF LOW-ENRICHED W
BY EDLOW INTERNATIONAL CO. - ISNM81014 On July 21, 1981 Edlow International Co. submitted an application for a license autnorizing the import of 1,850 kilograms of uranium enriched to 2.65% U-235 from Sweden. Subsequently, the company amended its application to cover 1,850 kilngrams of ma.terial enriched to a maximum of 2.6% U-235. The material in the form of U 03 8 and U0, will be packaged in approved cylinders and delivered 2
to a Department of Energy enrichment plant.
This request is essentially the same as previous requests to import low-enriched UF, for example, ISNM760017 and ISNM81001, and represents no material change 6
in circumstances from conditions and findings which existed at the time of the earlier imports. The import does not present an undue risk to health and safety or to the environment and will not be inimical to the common defense and security. The staff recommends this license be issued.
