LaSalle County Station Units 1 and 2 HFA Relay Bobbin Assembly Cracking Inte.im Report Under la CFR 50.55(e)

No. 50-373/81-02 and 50-374/81-02 NRC Docket Nos.-50-373/374 Reference (1):

L. O. DelGeorge letter to J. G. Keppler dated March 25, 1981

Dear Mr. Keppler:

The purpose of this letter is to update information provided in Reference (1) relative to the replacement program for HFA Relay Bobbin Assemblies.

As has been indicated in our previous correspondence, this program will conform to the guidance provided in SE Service Information Letter (SIL) No. 44, Supplement 2, dated February 13, 1981.

Availability of replacement materials has been the primary source of delay in initiating the work required.

In order to e.ompress the time to completion both the inspection and replacement if required of Lexan. Bobbins will be made at a single equipment

(

outage to reduce the impact on the plant testing program.

Sufficient materials are now available to allow for the initiation of work on the effected nuclear steam Jupply system relays.

That work will begin on August 3, 1981 and is expected to be completed within two weeks.

The work in the balance of plant relays will also begin in August, 1981 and is expected to be completed prior to fuel loading.

This schedular information will be updated on September 15, 1981 at which time we expect to be able to issue a final report on this subject.
