Please find enclosed herewith the contentions of State of Maine for filing in the above-referenced proceedings pursuant to the Notice and Order Scheduling Prehearing Conference dated June 22, 1981.

Also enclosed is the Appearance of Philip F. Ahrens, Assistant Attorney General.

The State of Maine further requests the opportunity to address the following additional subjects at the Prehearing

(1) the schedule for completion by Maine Yankee of its response to questions of the NRC staff about the application of Maine Yankee, including submission of the proposed rack design; (2) the schedule for completion of NRC staff review of the application of Maine Yankee, including' completion of the Safety " valuation Report and the staff's environmental analysis;

a r.d (4) a motion by the State of Maine, pursuant to 10 C.F.R.

S 2.741(a) (2), to permit the State, with its consultants, to enter upon and inspect Maine Yankee's power plant.
