Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

In our initial response to your notice of violation result-ing from Inspection 79-03 (correspondence referenced above), we stated tnat concrete preplacement inspectors would verify that rebar stored in field areas was not in contact with the ground.

Additionally, we stated that the Storaga and Maintenance Procedure would be ievised to incorporate these rebar storage inspection requirements.

Results of Quality Control inspections since May 15, 1979, indicate that rebar storage conditions have been controlled by the storage and maintenance inspection group. Therefore, to accommodate better manpower assignment, we inter.d to delete the redundant requirement that the preplacement inspector accomplish this inspection.

Please advise if you have any questions concerning this plan.
