F.isenhut The referanced 2cter requested commitments to and 10 of Regulatory Guide 1.58, regulatory positions C.5, o

Revision 1, and Regulatory Guide 1.146, and our planned date for achieving compliance.

The latest revision of our FSAR currently commits us to these regulatory guides for operating phase activities with certain clarifications and cxceptions.

For ongoing design and construction activities, Union Electric, the SNUPPS Staff, and our lead AE (Bechtel) will be in compliance with these regulatory guides (consistent with our FSAR commitment) by December 31, 1981.

Union Electric's constructor, Daniel International Corporation, will also be in compliance with these regulatory guides witiin the same time frame and with one minor variation in relation to Regulatory Guide 1.146.

The crediting of experience points will place more value on nuclear quality assurance auditing.

The Design and Construction QA Program document will be revised to reflect these commitments.

A commitment by the NSSS supplier and first core fuel fabricator (Westinghouse) relative to these Regulatory Guides is being reflected in revisions to Westinghouse topical QA reports, WCAP 7800 anc' 8370.

These revisions will be subject to NRC review as generic submittals in accordance with established Westinghouse procedures.

Ve truly yours, if q M OA l
