Subject:

Construction and Use of an Additional Uranyl Nitrate s 80ert7'%

Ef Storage Tank

.4 The Westinghouse Electric Corporation hereby submits information regarding the construction and use of a fourth 7,500 gallon uranyl nitrate storage tank. This confirms a conversation between Mr. W. T. Crow and the writer on June 18, 1981.

The tank will be located on the existing uranyl nitrate concrete storage pad; consequently, no additional construction will be necessary. The pad is designed to contain the contained solutions in the event of a leak.

All existing operating and Sefeguards parameters will remain unchanged; including;

1) compliance with the Fundamental Nuclear Material Control
Manual,
2) concentration controls for uranium bearing solutions to $5 grams U-235 per liter,
3) a gamma monitoring and alarm system to alert operators in the unlikely event that uranium concentrations exceed the action
