Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Our letter of March 13, 1980 requested an amendment to condition 8 of the Certificate of Compliance.
This amendment would allow replacement of the Garlock Model 23 Split Klosure gasket when our Quality Assurance staff revealed a defect rather than every twelve months, as presently required.
A leak test method which will satisfy our corporate Safety Review Board has not been determined.
In view of the fact that time does not permit us to look at this problem in some detail, we would like this i tem dropped. We will, however, look at it again in the future.
