By motion of June 3,1981, the Intervenor requested qualification of Mr. Daniel Hirsch as an expert interrogator according to 10 CFR E 2.733. By Order of June 16, 1981, Mr. Hirsch was asked to clarify cercain of his asserted qualifications.

On July 24, 1981, Staff counsel received a copy of the UCLA response to Mr. Hirsch's clarifications. This was the first indication to Staff counsel that Mr. Hirsch had submitted a clarification of his qualifications since Stz,ff counsel has not received personal service nor a copy from docketing and service of this document.

Having had no prior knowledge of the existence of Mr. Hirsch's clariff-cation, Staff counsel hereby requests an extension of time until July 30, 1981, to respond to this document.
