h. Serial 8807; dated July 31, 1980 5 Serial 9786; dated October 31, 1980 This letter, as were the referenced letters, is an interim 50.55(e) report regarding safe shutdown boration capability assuming a most restrictive core condition and the control rod of highest worth stuck out of the core.

1 Consumers, Bechtel and B&W are discussing the detailed design of the system including the procedures required for system operability. Any requirements for system operability will be factored into the detailed design.

The equipment required for this modification is on order and in various l

stagese of fabrication. It is expected that shipment of the major components vill occur during the latter part of 1981 and construction will extend through the spring of 1982.

It is expected that an FSAR Amendment vill be issued in October of 1981 TEN3 covering the details of the Emergency Boration System. /[j Another report, either interim or final, will be transmitted on or bercre December 31, 1981.
