__ J' NRC IE BULLETIN NO. 81-02 FAILURE OF GATE TYPE VALVES TO CLOSE AGAINST DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION In reply to IE Bulletin No. 81-02, dated April 9, 1981, we of fer the following:
PSE&G has effected the review of safety-related purchase orders and identified those that were potentially impacted by the subject NRC document.
The respective vendors were then ' ontacted.
All vendors, including the NSSS supplier, c
have confirmed that no motor-operated gate valves described in the referenced bulletin are used in safety-related appli-cations at Hope Creek.
Three suppliers, however, have merely supplied a verbal i
response.
They are General Electric, Colt Industries, and Carrier.
It is expected that written confirmation will be received by September 15, 1981, and will be available for review at that time.
