Question #1: Describe the calibration facility.

Answer: The calibration facility at Callaway Plant will be located in a dedicated use room in the control building at elevation 1984. Access to the calibration room will be controlled by keyed lock, and all sources will be locked when not in use. An Eberline source position indicator, model #SP-1 will be in continuous operation in the room to warn personnel of exposed sources in use.

The principal calibration devices will be a 200 curie Cs-137 contained in J. L. Shepherd instrument calibrator model 89/78-2M, a 200 millicurie Cs-137 contained in J. L. Shepherd dosimetry calibrator model 142-10, a depleted Uranium Beta plaque, and several alpha sources.

Questions #2: What will be used for neutron dosimetry?

Answer: Neutron dosimetry will be accomplished with neutron film badges. The neutron film badges service will be obtained from an outside vendor. The vendor procedures and QA program will be reviewed prior to issuance of a contract.

Question #3: Verify that the "Yes" under "Offsite Power" on table 12.3-4 pertains to all monitors listed in this table.

Answer: All monitors listed in table 12.3-4 will be restored after loss of Offsite Power.
