- 3) UEWP-81-399 IE Bulletin 81-02, issued on April 9,1981 identified various gate-type motor operated valves that failed to fully close under a differential pressure.
In response to IE Bulletin 81-02, the Supply System has determined that none of the specific valves mentioned in the bulletin are being supplied for the.WNP-1/4 Projects.
However, similar style valves have been pur-chased from Borg-Warner. These valves are 6 inch, electro hydraulic actuated, and_4" air operated style number 79294. Of these only one would have to close against a high differential pressure and serve a safety related function, i.e., isolate a steam line break.
Borg-Warner has determined that their valves are not subject to the problems ; outlined in the bulletin.
In the one specific case, the valve is certified for use in closing against -1220 psi-which h adequate for that specific service condition.
