Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 72 to Facility Operating Licence No. OPR-37 issued to Virginia Electric and Power Company (the licensee), which revised Technical Specifications for operations for tne'Surry Power Station, Unit No. 2.

(the facility) located in Surry County, Virginia. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.

The amendment provides a one time 60 day extension for the visual inspection surveillance requirement for inaccessible snubbers.

T!4 application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act),

and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and I

regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amend-ment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since this amendment does not involve a significant hazards ' consideration.

The Commission has determined that the issuance of triis amendment will j
