Dear Mr. Keppler:
In response to IE Bulletin No. 81-02, Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc.
(PSI) has been informed by Westinghouse that twelve (12) W-EMD manufactured valves which require closure at differential pressures greater than the limits set forth in Table 1 of the subject bulletin have been identified. These valves are listed in the attached chart with the additional information requested.
Westinghouse has not yet completed the testing and redesign program to the point of choosing a best modification for each valve type.
PSI currently plans to return the identified valves to Westinghcuse for modification.
Efforts are now underway by Westinghouse to develop a schedule for valve modifications that is consistent with the need dates of their customers.
The PSI manpower expended in the review and p-sparation of this response was approximately 22 manhours.
It is estimated ~.nat corrective actions will necessitate an additional 25 to 30 PSI manhours.
