Dear Mr. Cohen:

In References (b) and (c) Maine Yankee was requested to provide a written description of the availability of logistic support for NRC's modification of it's own on site hotline conmunications system. Of course we are willing to help, but we cannot understand why your Resident Inspector can not make the necessary arrangaments with plant personnel.

Further, there is surely no need for a written description when your inspector can obtain the necessary information very quickly by asking.

In the future we would appreciate any efforts you might make to eliminate unnecessary paper-l work.

Robert E. Kinsey (1-207/623-3521, Ext. 2644) will be available when needed to coordinate activities (such as power availability, cable facilities, and access for telephone company representatives) with the NRC and New England Telephone l

Company.
