JUL 0 81981 MEMORANDUM T0: THE FILE

SUBJECT:

. PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXP0RT FLUX DETECTORS TO CANADA, XCOM0544

^

On July 7,1981, Westinghouse Electric Corporation filed an application to export 237 flux detectors to Canada.

The detectors will be used in the Bruce B Generating Station located in Tiverton.

The applicant has requested by telephone that an export license be issued on an emergency basis as the detectors are ready to be shipped immediately.

The staff has concluded that the proposed export meets the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act, as amended, and would not be inimical to the common defense and security of the United States.

In view of the above considerations, the staff issued this license without the normal 15-day waiting period, b: /
