This refers to the routine safety 1 ion conducted by Mr. W. J. Slawinski of this office on June 24 and 25,1981, of activities at Reuter-Stokes, Inc.

authorized by NRC Material Licenses No. 34-18233-01, No. 34-18156-01 and No. SNM-1826 and to the discussion of our findings with you at the con-clusion of the inspection and telephone conversation on July 1, 1981.

The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license.

The inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with personnel.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection of License No. SNM-1826.

However, during the inspection of Licenses No. 34-18156-01 and No. 34-18233-01, certain of your activities appeared to be in noncompliance with NRC require-ment

's described in the enclosed Appendix A.

With respect to Item No. 4, the inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified noncompliance and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to this item of noncompliance is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter at this time.

Regarding the remaining Items, a written response, submitted under oath or afffirmation is required.

We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
