$k NRC STAFF RESPONSE TO INTERVEN0R MOTION C-FOR ADDITIONAL TIME TO FILE
\\
v FIRST ROUND DISCOVERY REQUESTS
/,3f On July 2,1981, Counsel for the intervenors, Wanda Ciiristy, Mary Ellen Salava and Kansans for Sensible Energy filed a motion for additional time to file first round discovery requests. The Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (Board), in its Special Prehearing Conference Order of June 3,1981 had established July 20, 1981 as the last day for filing first round discovery requests, and August 25, 1981 as the last day for filing responses to first round discovery requests. At the tima of the issuance of the Order none of the intervenors mentioned above was represented by counsel. Together with the intervenors' motion, counsel filed his notice of appearance on behalf of all the non-governmental parties admitted to this proceeding.
l Since this operati J license case is in an early phase, an extension of one nonth for discovery requests and answers will not prejudice any party to the proceeding. The Staff has been advised by counsel for Apolicant that they will not object to the motion.
The Staff does not object to granting the additional time requested by intervenors, with the understanding that the Stal f's time to file
