Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Application for Storage of Unirradiated Reactor Fuel and Associated Material-Postponement of Submittal Date On January 9,1981, Houston Lighting & Power Company submitted a list of the documents, applications and reouests for review which HL&P anticipated would be submitted to the NRC between January 1, 1981, and December 31, 1983.
One such item was the application for a license to receive, possess, and store the initial fuel load for the South Texas Project which was to be submitted in June, 1981. However, due to the current state of the STP design, submittal of the application at this time would be premature.
Certain areas of the design must be resolved before the application can be submi ted for review.
Consequently, HL&P is postponing submittal of this application for NRC review until June,1983.
If you have any ouestions, please contact Mr. Michael E. Powell at (713) 676-8592.
Very truly yours,
/
