Dear Administrative Judges:
On June 18, 1981, CFUR filed "CFUR's Motion to Compel Responsive Answers to Its Fourth Set of Interrogatories to Applicant and Requests to Produce.
Motion to Find Applicants in Default and Request for Oral Argument pursuant to 10 CFR Ss 2.707, 2.740(f) and 2.755."
The Staff views CFUR's Motions to involve matters between CFUR and Appli-cants. Accordingly, by this letter we inforn the Board that the Staff does not intend to subait responses to these notions. WithoJt expressing an opinion as to whether the relief sought by CFUR should be granted, the Staff has previously expressed its view that, upon the failure of a party to properly couply with another party's discovery requests, the better practice O7 is that the Licensing Board not impose severe sanctions, such as entering findings of fact pursuant to 10 CFR h 2.707(a), without first taking the 3
